Penalties lead Constantine past Blackhawks
With only three games left in the season, Fennville began his quest to end the season above .500 with a visit 4-2 Constantine. Unfortunately, that search never got off the ground and the Blackhawks would suffer their fifth straight loss, 48-19.
Fennville drew first blood in a 35-yard touchdown Noah MacDonald. From there, it was back and forth throughout the first half. Fennville had problems stopping the run and it cost them all game. But they did not so much as sanctions.
Fennville lost ground in several offensive units with penalties - establish itself back 30 yards in consecutive series after making his way to the field. In all, the Blackhawks Kane Jersey committed nine penalties for 70 yards.
"We shot in the foot a little." said coach Brian fennville Sackett. "As my guys effort, I was surprised. We felt like the first half we played tonight, we feel like that's how good we are. But we just keep beating ourselves."
This would ultimately be the story of the game for Fennville. Constantine took over the game in the second half and Fennville was no longer able to hang after going scoreless in the second half and punted or lose the ball played in each unit. Constantine, on the other hand, put a further 28 points in the Blackhawks defense gassed.
Latchaw Dakota passed for 68 yards and two touchdowns. He also racked up 42 yards rushing.
"Just we do not do our work at certain points." Latchaw said. "Offense played very well. But we kill a couple of times a couple of bad plays and so we ended up losing."
Fennville loss hits out of the playoffs. But they still have a chance to finish the season on a high note with wins over Marcelo and Saugatuck. Latchaw believes they can if they play like they did in the first half. Toews Jersey.
"I think if we continue playing like this for the rest of the season, we can win the next two games." Latchaw said. "We should have been playing well all season."
